This is your chance to make your brand dance with memorable, engaging, and timeless appeal. You’re in for veritable treat as today I share with you my fabulous 6-step brand engagement routine

First thing’s first: What Gets Your Heels Clicking?

Before you bust out the sequins and hit the dance floor, you gotta ask yourself, “What’s my WHY?” What are the values and convictions that make your heart flutter and your brand strut? These are your secret recipe, your charm, your spell that keeps your followers enchanted.

Grab your glitter pens, guys but most gals! We’re brainstorming! Think of at least four things that spark joy for your brand. Then, dress them up in a couple of sentences that’ll make them pop like champagne on ice. Paper and pen, or your shiny new iPad Pro – you choose your tools! Personally I love a new motivational journal.

Next up, who’s on Your Dance Card?

Just like any good hero(ine)’s journey, you need to know your audience. Who are the lovely ladies you are serving?

Understanding your customer is your golden ticket to success. It’s the perfect twirl in your dance routine that will really make your audience gasp, in the best possible way.

If you haven’t yet, invest in creating a detailed customer profile. Also known as an Avatar. No, not the blue giants, unless that’s who you’re tying to attract. The more you know your audience and their quirks, likes, and dislikes, the better you can tune your brand and hone your messaging to demand their attention and engagement.

Striking Your Pose: What makes you Stand Out?

With thousands of brands shimmying away, what’s going to give you the edge? How can you keep their attention and avoid shiny object syndrome?

The answer lies in crafting your mission statement, brand promise, and deciding on your unique approach. These elements are like your signature move that makes the crowd go wild. I’ll be diving deeper into those elements on The Journal in the future.

Your mission statement is your brand’s heart song, a melody that resonates, so it’s gotta be catchy. Can’t be forgetting your chorusline. Your brand promise is your killer dance routine that wows the crowd and leaves them wanting more. And when these two come together, it’s your unique positioning, baby!

Every queen has her story, and your brand is no exception. It’s the stirring narrative that connects, captivates, and keeps your followers loyal.

Like a gripping novel or a tantalising movie, your brand story thrives on defining moments, challenging crossroads, and late-night “Eureka!” moments. Or more like – uh huh hon!

Introduce your audience to the series of events that have brought you to where you are today. Let them root for you, empathise with you, and, most importantly, connect with you, emotionally. People loveee a back story and boy have I got one to share with you all. More on that another day though.

Imagine your brand as a character—bold, graceful, or perhaps a little quirky and eccentric?

Imagine it as a person. What’s her personality like? What’s her style, her charm? How does she interact with your audience? Go one step further. Act like her personal stylist. What brands is she decked out in? Is she high street or haute couture?

Now, use those ideas and describe your brand in a few words. Remember, your brand personality should reflect your values, mission, and customer profile. It’s not just about being different; it’s about being authentically you.

Nailing Your Routine: Consistency is Key

Finally, we come to the grand finale. It’s time to pull it all together – your convictions, customer profile, positioning, brand story, and personality – into a consistent and harmonious brand voice.

Your brand voice is your performance:

The steps you take.

The stage presence you have.

The impression you leave.

What’s your brand’s party persona? The life and soul of the party, or the crowd-pleasing charmer?
